Noel Kingsbury leads a four day class in planting design. Starting with the plant, the class will study plant ecology including a trip into the countryside to understand how plants survive and compete in nature. It will then go on to look at all aspects of planting design: planning for future maintenance, growth over time colour, foliage, structure, seasonality.
Students will have exercises in critiquing photographs of existing plantings and analysing plans from a number of experienced designers. They will also draw up their own planting plans for a variety of locations.
